EdubloggerCon kicked off with a ‘smack down’. This is basically a digital-show and tell. People line up and spend a few minutes talking about something. The time starts with 5 minute presentations and gradually drops down to 30 seconds. Interesting to me more as a way of engaging people, though obviously the content was relevant. It was a great way of sharing and getting quick peer review. Interestingly, most of the things shown were tools, not pedagogical instances, so while having an educational feel, this session was very much a micro-technology showcase.
